Sanctuary of Oropa

The Sanctuary of Oropa is considered the most important place of Marian worship, dedicated to the Black Madonna, in the Alps.

Located at 1200 meters a.s. l. in the amphitheater of the Biella Alps, it is immersed in the uncontaminated area of the Sacro Monte di Oropa Special Reserve where it is possible to walk in peace and rediscover nature away from the crowds.

Its architectural complex includes the Ancient Basilica with the statue of the Black Madonna, the Upper Basilica, the royal pavilion of the Savoy with the Treasures Museum, the Historical Archive and the very rich Library, the Meteo-seismic Observatory, the Monumental Cemetery and the Sacred Mount recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Oropa also offers the possibility of organizing meetings and conferences thanks to 2 conference rooms equipped with 150 and 70 seats and other 2 rooms with 30 and 50 seats

TYPE “MONTE MUCRONE”
This type of room offers the best relationship between quality and price. Single, double and connecting rooms are available, ideal for a stay with the whole family. All the rooms are located in the first square of the Sanctuary.

Located in the cloister of the Ancient Basilica, these rooms are the most elegant and characterized by period furnishings.

Furthermore in the summer months , 46 rooms with shared bathrooms are also available; in the remaining months of the year they are only for groups

Inside the cloister there are also 3 self-managed structures for a total of 64 beds with attached kitchens
