Oro di Berta Farmhouse

The Oro di Berta organic farm, founded in 1998 by Tristano and Paola, grows a wide variety of vegetables (including heirloom varieties), fruit, chestnuts, and walnuts.

It is also a farmhouse, housed in a charming 18th-century factory, tastefully renovated and surrounded by chestnut groves, an orchard and vegetable gardens. The furnishings are welcoming and traditional.

The rooms offer every comfort, preserving the elegance of the past with exposed wooden beams, period furniture, and wrought-iron beds.

Guests can enjoy typical seasonal recipes, traditional “merende sinoire,” always featuring fresh produce from the farm and other select producers (locally sourced), in line with current nutritional needs.

Picnic bags for adults and children, containing a typical seasonal menu, are available until the Thursday before the weekend, using the farm’s fresh produce.

It is also an Educational Farm for schools (from preschool to high school) and visitors of all ages; the owners organize cultural, gastronomic, and recreational events, always emphasizing the importance of food for overall well-being.

The location is ideal for wonderful nature walks, Nordic walking, and challenging hikes or mountain bike excursions (sometimes accompanied by certified guides). Bikers can rent bikes by reservation, and there’s secure storage for bikes, a workshop, and bike washing and inflation and recharging options.

In the workshop, they produce traditional walnut oil (rich in omega-3 and omega-6 and the farm’s pride and joy), apple vinegar and mustard, jams, vegetable stock cubes, pickled vegetables, and vegetables preserved in oil (depending on the season). All these products, like fresh fruit and vegetables, can be purchased at the company store.
The company was awarded the title of best artisan in the sector in the province of Biella in 2012 by Paolo Massobrio, a renowned food and wine journalist.

It joins the Slow Food Travel Community of the Biella Mountains
