Oasi Zegna is a protected, open-access mountain area extending for approximately 100 square kilometers in Piedmont, in the Biella Alps, from the Mosso Valley to the Cervo Valley.
Its roots date back to the 1930s, when entrepreneur Ermenegildo Zegna, founder of Lanificio Zegna, after establishing the company that bears his name in Trivero Valdilana, dedicated himself to revitalizing the surrounding mountains.
The entrepreneur’s project included reforesting the slopes with 500,000 spruce trees, as well as hundreds of rhododendrons and hydrangeas, and building a road, the “Panoramica Zegna,” allowing locals and tourists to enjoy the natural environment of the “highlands.”
Today, Oasi Zegna is an open-air laboratory for new generations and an ideal place for families, children, and athletes to enjoy year-round activities in contact with nature, while fully respecting the ecosystems.
It is the ideal place for trekking and hiking, with its dense network of trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, skiing, and winter sports in the town of Bielmonte.
The area is also home to highly evocative sites, such as the famous Conca dei Rhododendri, which ablazes with vibrant colors in spring, and the Bosco del Sorriso (Smiling Forest), a sensory trail that invites you to reconnect with nature. A visit to the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Brughiera and the Sanctuary of San Bernardo, small jewels of architecture and spirituality, is a must.
The Oasi Zegna’s commitment is not limited to promoting tourism, but also extends to environmental protection.
The area is an open-air laboratory for innovative projects such as Zegna Forest, a plan to safeguard forest heritage, and the Outer EduCampus laboratory, which aims to raise awareness among younger generations about the importance of the balance between humanity and nature.
The recent FSC certification obtained in 2022 is tangible proof of a serious and ongoing commitment to sustainable forest management.
This project, which unites business and nature, was recognized in 2014 with the patronage of the FAI (Italian Environment Fund).
Oasi Zegna is a virtuous example of how nature, culture, and tourism can coexist in harmony, creating a unique and forward-thinking development model.
